Kenneth “Bill” Yates, DVM
Bill Yates is a professor and the chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at Harding University, where his responsibilities include faculty recruitment, academic and research policy development, and strategic planning for both technology transfer and research facilities support and development.
In addition to his academic work, Yates also advises emerging life science and biotechnology companies on business strategy, operational support, technology assessment and product development based on his extensive experience in the formulation, development and regulation of human and veterinary biological and device products, including the successful commercialization of several topical and oral indications for pain and wound management. His current areas of interest include novel delivery systems for drugs, including biologics and protein and peptide therapeutics.
Before joining the faculty at Harding, Yates served as co-founder and president of DelSite Biotechnologies, Inc., a drug delivery company headquartered in Irving, Texas. Prior to co-founding DelSite in 2001, he was vice president of research and development at Carrington Laboratories, where he had served in various capacities since 1990.
Yates attended Texas A&M University, earning a Master of Science in physiology and pharmacology in 1975 and a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1977. He is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Association of University Technology Managers.
